"Life is a challenge, but that's the best part."
With 7 Grand Slam titles, 5 Wimbledon championships and 4 Olympic gold medals, tennis legend Venus Williams is arguably one of the most accomplished and inspiring women in the history of sports. Throughout her career, Williams has been a steadfast advocate for equality. In 2006 UNESCO, the United Nations’ cultural organization titled her as the first "Promoter of Gender Equality."
What else are you passionate about besides tennis?
I was encouraged by my mother at an early age to explore my creative side, so I enrolled in fashion school where I was instantly drawn into the world of fashion and interior design. Now I have two fashion businesses; EleVen and V Starr.
What is your favorite tournament?
I have played in all of the Grand Slam tournaments, but Wimbledon is my all time favorite. There is so much history and tradition, and I have also won there 5 times!
